Women use baseball bat, hot grease in Richmond fight; baby hurt
A South Richmond fight that involved women armed with a baseball bat and hot grease ended with a 1-year-old child and three women taken to the hospital and two women taken into custody.
None of the four taken to VCU Medical Center after Thursday's incident had life-threatening injuries, Richmond police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said.
Waugh said a dispute among neighbors sparked the confrontation, which occurred in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike at 2:20 p.m.
Waugh said officers dispatched to the scene found three women fighting and using a baseball bat and hot grease as weapons.
One of the four taken to the hospital was a 1-year-old girl who had burn-related injuries caused by the grease, Waugh said.
Regina A. Rowland, 21, of the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike, was arrested on three counts of felony aggravated assault. Rochelle D. Crump, 23, also of the 4000 block of Midlothian, was charged with one count of felony aggravated assault.
Police were continuing their investigation today.
